The Bucket List

Do you have a bucket list prepared? After watching the movie again last night while I was preparing to make a speech at my friend’s memorial service later today, I realized that we all need a bucket list. My friend, dEEp Menon, passed away two weeks ago at the age of 31. It was a freak accident where he fell, hit his head, and never regained consciousness.

dEEp was truly a great spirit and will best be remembered for his devilish smile, energetic personality, and his reluctance to ever call it a night.  So in order to honor him, I’m putting together a bucket list.  Not sure what is going to be on the list yet, but it will involve some travel with my kids, a few crazy hikes or bike rides, and perhaps attending a few world events like the Olympics or The World Cup.

I think it’s important to have a list and revisit it from time to time.  In the past two months I’ve lost two friends under the age of 40.  That’s a sign that we should all live every day to the fullest and never have any regrets about our past.

Cheers!  Rest in peace my friend.

Not sure if you remember me, Ron, but I’m Pradeep’s cousin. I live in NYC and was able to perform the last rites with the family in SD. I still think about him everyday and you’re right, we’ve all got to start preparing a bucket list. Too many people, far too young, have gone, all too suddenly.

Take care and this was a lovely find on a random google search!

      Hi Radhika,

Good to hear from you. I was just in SD yesterday and when I drove by dEEp’s exit, I got an eery feeling. He was a good person. Still doesn’t make sense to me.

      Let’s stay in touch.

        Hi Ron,

        How are you?

It’s coming up one year since Deep’s passing, and again my random search brings up this website! 😉 How time flies, eh? And it all still feels very recent. Still miss the guy heaps.

Caught up with Rekha and her parents when I was in KL over the New Year hols. Was good seeing them.

Anyways, just writing in to say hi.

        Take care,
